Hello everyone! We are in need of some serious rain here in Prattville. The grass is brown and crunch and the plants look haggard. We have a very effective drip system that waters the beds, but nothing can replace God’s water. Plants always look so much more vibrant after a good rain. Someone once told me rainwater is rich in nitrogen, is that true?
Anyway, I’ve been short for time here lately so I’m a little behind on my blog reading. I usually take my lunch at my desk at work and do my reading then, but the head of the IT department has told everyone no more internet usage. Sooooooo, that’s an hour of the day I don’t get to catch up on my blog reading. Which really sucks. I guess I just have to do what I can on the weekends because there is simply very little time during the week.
Here are a few pictures from the garden. I hope everyone has/had a great Memorial Day.

Sorry you've lost some of your blog-reading time. But happy that you took the time to post these beautiful flowers! I've had my eye on some of those "Becky" daisies(?). Would like to find some at a good price or FREE!
We had SO much rain earlier this spring but the ground here is beginning to cry for some rain, too. Hope you get some soon.
Rebecca,
We had three stands of these shastas along with 'Polaris' and 'Crazy Daisy' shastas and these are the only ones that came back and only one plant of them. I was very upset, I guess the cold got them. If it puts out some babies I will happily send you some. :-)-- Randy
Lookin' good, thanks ! Gina
Beautiful daylilies, Randy. Come on over to GG and see Sharon's. They are wonderful too. You will be inspired....as if you aren't already.
What a bummer that they have pulled the plug on your lunch reading. Your daylilies don't seem to mind the droughty conditions. They look gorgeous. My varigated iris started blooming just yesterday. It is such a pretty iris and I love the varigated foliage. I hope you guys have a great weekend too.
I spite of your drought, your flowers still look lovely.
We had a very dry spring and I was sure that if it didn't rain while I was on vacation, everything would be dead when I returned. As luck would have it, there were several torrential rains. Maybe I should leave the garden alone more often?
Great shots there, Randy! Love your Irises as ever!
I know how hard it is when they stop you from using Internet at office - some utilization of resources! That's horrible! I am facing the same issue here. I am far behind catching up with all blogs and it's been long since I've posted one too - though I have so much to talk about! Sometimes, I think work sucks! I don't get time for myself the whole week! Phew!
Have a great weekend!
Great Blooms! Catalina realy caught my eye. Love daylilies. It has rained off and on since Friday just north of you in Helena, hope you all got a few sprinkles too!
Hi Randy, your garden looks just great! When I was working, I did the same as you: eat lunch at my desk and comment on blogs. It really sucks that you can't use the Internet for personal stuff during your lunch time!! Not being tied to a desk these days, I'm way worse on blog commenting, even though it's something I like to do.
Your daylilies are beautiful. I like the shades of pink in the last two. Don't think I've seen the coreopsis with variegated leaves before.
