There was a big time bully at the bird feeder this weekend and he did not play well with others. I wanted to go thump him oh his little head and tell him to be nice!

There is always ONE of these bully birds around isn't there ? .. we have three finch feeders (a new type too in a sock sort of contraption .. quite in genius actually) so squabbles have been kept down to a minimum .. so far ?

Wow- you captured them in the bully stance for sure. I guess birds can still be a lot like people when they feel like it. Maybe their housing market crashed and he's having a bad day:D

What outstanding pictures. I have never seena siskin act like this before. This one is definitely full of those spring hormones. Protecting his territory. Some girl siskin will think him a fine catch.

These were taken with the old camera. My new one should be here tomorrow or the next day. I'm getting excited, but it has a lot to live up too where my old camera is concerned.

Good Lord but those are dramatic shots. LOL I agree with Lisa, I think he's got a bit of testosterone.
It's funny to watch them do that sometimes. Last week, I saw a parrot bullying a crow! Now, isn't that so weird? But here parrots rule! Birds usually do that to establish dominance whenever a new member comes into their territory. Of course, not all are territorial, like for example finches.
Every year we get a humingbird, and it's always chasing any others out of the yard.

Hummingbirds are the worst when it comes to fighting, with their squeaky little chirps!
What great pictures! I've seen the same thing happening with the siskins at my feeder. This is our first year for so many siskins (I was told some kind of crop failure in Canada forced them down south much earlier than usual). They are insatiable and quite the bullies!
Fantastic capture on the photos...You would think that with 5 feeders there would be room to go around! I guess birds can be pretty aggressive during mating season!
