Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Sorry I’m a little late with the post, but it seems like I’ve been running around like mad the past few months. I decided to stay home this weekend so I walked around the garden to snap a few pictures for you to enjoy. We were due a big rain last night according to the weather man, but it was a no show. The temperature here reached over 100° this week and its only June! The daylilies are stressed beyond belief and the foliage looks terrible, but they are still producing some really pretty blooms.
The balloon flowers are larger than they’ve ever been before and I can’t wait to see them next year. The patch should be about three times as wide.
So far this year I’ve only seen one humming bird around the salvia, but honestly I’ve been too busy to do much other than maintain the garden. I have a three day weekend so maybe I’ll have time to enjoy it a little today or tomorrow.
This photo doesn’t really do the Vitex justice. It’s such a brilliant blue right now and it’s really growing into a very large tree. I’ve just been limbing it up and allowing it to gain in height. This photo was taken in the afternoon so the light was horrible.
The Asiatics are smelling wonderful too. This particular one is ‘Coral Queen’. Okay folks, this post is short and sweet. I’ve got to get up from here and get started on a few things that need to be done. Have a good week.

Everything looks wonderful. I held the computer monitor up to the window and yelled out at my “patch” of planting and told them this is what they were suppose to look like!!! Maybe I can shame them into doing something, lol.

It is a shame not to get out into your garden even though you have been busy. It is such a beautiful place. I know when the temp gets that high it isn't any fun to be outside. Even here it got to 99. UGH... I always thought baloon flowers wouldn't grow here becasue of the heat. Ha... It must be the gardener.

I have the dwarf balloon flowers, but think I'm going to try the taller ones in the future. You can collect seeds on mine, so I assume the tall ones can be grown from seed as well. The dwarf are blooming first year.
There were 3 hummingbirds fighting over the red monarda 'Jacob Cline' this evening. They were buzzing within inches of me and thought they were actually going to bump into me while I worked in the garden!
Your garden looks lovely...that lily must smell amazing! I have to laugh...my 'Black and Blue' Salvia is just a few inches tall so far!
Beautiful, Randy! Envious your daylilies are in bloom...still waiting for my 'first' of the season (besides the Stella D'oros). Love the Vitex, too! I know what you mean about being too busy to post on a regular basis but nice to know we have friends coming to visit when we do! ;D Stay cool! Lynn~
Here I was complaining about the cold...100F is just body-stopping. Your garden is looking very pretty - I'm about 4 weeks away from any kind of lily display, so it's lovely to take in yours. I like the vitex photo - cool with the curls on the right hand side - when the light is perfect, I'd retake it and make it a wall photo.
