Winter Garden Woes

Let us make an apology to all of our readers, but this winter in the garden has just sapped the life out of everything. Looking around at all the brown and withered flora isn't very motivating. I was strolling the garden this morning while Maxx scampered through the yard and realized there is much to do before spring arrives. Warmer weather is forecast for our zone this week, so I plan on getting out and doing some much needed work in the yard. Randy, however, will be sitting on the sidelines as I do a lot of the work as his back is in poor shape. Physical therapy will keep him busy while the yard will keep me busy. Photos will be up soon as well as regular posts rolling out again, too.

Be careful when you get out there. You don't want to end up with an aching back like Randy. It is so tempting to get out and do too much on the first pretty days. Maybe Randy can make lists of "things to do" while recooperating. I am sure you will appreciate that. ;)

Randy, I hope you are feeling better soon. I miss you here. Our garden is just a pile of brown mush too. That's the way of winter around here.

We had warmer weather today, and I couldn't wait to get outside. There still isn't much to look at, but I did plant some rose cuttings and clematis I got as a Valentine present. I do see a lot of things coming back. It can't be long now before some sort of gardening will be an everyday activity.
Hang in there.

I'm glad to see Jamie did a post to let you guys know we are still around. Thanks for the well wishes on my back. It's a lot worse this time and has seriously affected my right leg. I'm hoping I can get it under control with exercises and maybe a spinal injection. I'm trying very hard to avoid surgery. We'll try our best not to go so long without posting again.:-)--Randy

Best regards to you both. I think I know a little bit about aching bones. ;) Gardening is one of the things Rheumatoid Arthritis has been working hard at taking away from me. I hate to admit it, but I'm afraid it's winning too. :( I'll always love gardens though, even if I can't get in on the knitty gritty stuff. :)

A week into the post, how're you doing on those clean up chores, Jamie? It's been downright freezing here in NJ so I am not as anxious to head out there. Another month, I think, til I'm itching to play in the dirt...lol! Happy (almost) Spring to you and Randy!
