Flowers In the Sky

Jamie and I had a wonderful 4th of July yesterday. It was spent cooking out with our dearest friends Wade and Jimmy and later that evening we went to watch the “flowers in the sky.” Jamie and I both agreed we can’t remember when we’ve enjoyed Independence Day so much. I hope you enjoyed yours too.

Amazing photos!

My fireworks viewing days ended when we adopted Charm. Dogs are terrified of fireworks sounds, so we have to stay home to keep her calm while the world explodes around us!

Great shots of notoriously difficult subjects.

The best way to spend the 4th of July is with those we love. I never thought about fireworks as flowers in the sky, but I will now. Thanks.~~Dee

You got some fantastic photos. I meant to go and watch the local fireworks display but at the last minute just couldn't face the traffic and the crowds.

These 'flowers' are BEAUTIFUL, Randy! Please tell me what type of camera you use...I always get such terrible, blurry shots...so determined to capture them that I totally miss out on the real enjoyment...lol.

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

Lynn, I use a Son DSC- H50 if you look in the sidebar of the blog you will see a link to it. BUT, almost all digital cameras have a "Firworks" setting on them now. Take a good look at yours. :-)--Randy

I've used the fireworks setting - but never as successfully as you have here -looks like it truly was a Glorious Fourth!
