what beautiful photos!!! thanks for visiting...I don't use anything as an edge...but I just dig a trench to keep the grass out. I use the week wacker to keep it trimmed up. I did a post on it a while back...here is the link with close ups if you want to see them!

Tootsie,
We do the same thing, I was just wondering if you had a different method. :-)--Randy

I remember when I lived in Alabama the huge lady banks roses. I was disappointed to learn they are not hardy here in Illinois. None of the climbers or ramblers here get over 8 feet high:(

They all look lovely, Jamie and Randy! I love the yellow ones - their photo came out really well.

Marnie,
I want to collect all the Lady banks. I need Purezza and there is also a purple one. I love them.

Mouli,
Those are tiny flowers, only about a centimeter wide. I'm glad you like it, it's one of my favorite photos. :-)--Randy

If you or Phillip don't win, then it is RIGGED I tell ya!

LOL, I agree with Dirt Princess. Lovely photos -- Cl. Peace is a beauty.

I like the first one best; it has an old-fashioned/sepia feel about it.

Lisa,
These little competitions are fun, this only like the third one that I've entered. :-)

Dirt Princess
You are so funny! I've ALWAYS loved that bench picture that phillip has up. It looks like it's right out of a magazine.

Sweet Bay,
I had two of those Peace roses for about 13 years. We just dug them up and gave them away. They suffered so very bad from black spot we thought they might flourish better in a new home and so far they've been very happy with their new owners. :-)--Randy

Monica,
You slipped in while I was responding to the other posts! That first photo has always been a favoritie of mine. It was really overcast the day I took that picture.

Your photo of New Dawn is the best I've ever seen ND look! I would vote for her if I could! Gail

Gail,
You should see that New Dawn when it is in full bloom. Wow! I've never been able to take a picture that does it justice.

Racquel and Cameron,
I love that Lutea shot. It was very overcast that day and the blooms were so incredibly full they were reflecting the golden light you see in the picture. It's completely untouched.

PS to Racquel and Cameron, I did crop the photo though.

One cm? Wow! I'd have never guessed it. It must bloom in bunches, eh? You really have unique plants and that's one of the reasons I soooo loooove your blog.

I can't believe this - I just looked up at Meems comment after submitting and we wrote almost the exact same thing. Normally I read comments but the roses were so gorgeous and such quality to the photos I just jumped right into the comment section. Well, ya know what they say - great minds . . .

Thanks everyone!
RainGardener it's Okay. :-) there are only so many words you can use to describe a photo or a pretty flower. Sooner or later we have to repeat ourselves. LOL--Randy
