Gardening Gone Wild Photo Contest

Frosty Daff

This month’s theme for the Picture This Photo Contest is “Awakening”. I chose this image of a frost covered daffodil as my entry. Good luck to everyone and thanks to our wonderful competition hosts.

I love macros and this one is gorgeous. Love the angle and color and frost crystals. Bet you win!

Darla is right. Yours is one of the best among some tough choices.

I have to agree with Monica since she's holding a chainsaw.

Even so you'd get my vote as best so far. I love it. Far better than what some spore head entered :)

Great photo, Randy... I love seeing the little flower with frost on it... I'm sure it is VERY cold... ha... Fabulous photo though...

You had better get your act together and start feeding those backyard birdies.. Poor little neglected things!!!!

Oh that is a beauty, Randy, good luck! I am sorry you even had frost at the same time as a daff was trying to look up, though. :-)

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments everyone! I took this photo 2 years ago. The daffodil was not the least bit affected by the frost. :-)-- Randy

Great entry! The frost is a great touch for an awakening bud. We are sure leaving the cold behind and gearing towards the warmth now. Good Luck on your entry…

This is a stunning photo. I love daffodils best. I could see a three picture series as this daff opens. You've inspired me to try this with my own amateur photo attempts. I'm sure mine will not be as defined as yours though. Again, love this photo.
